DO Dynamic Stretching!
Do Dynamic Stretching
The best kind of warm up before a killer workout is a few minutes of cardio( such as Jumping jacks) followed by dynamic stretching.
Years ago we thought that stretching will sitting or standing and focusing on one muscle group at a time.
This kind of static stretching-which helps prevent muscle soreness and improves overall flexibility -is best performed AFTER your workout, when your muscles are warm and loose. In the past fitness experts have found that there is a more effective way to stretch before a workout-The Dynamic Stretch.
Dynamic stretching is basically stretching with movement, so your body gets a chance to warm up the muscles slowly and in a more functional way.
It’s a 1-2-3 punch. You warm up your body, get your heart rate up and stretch at the same time. Do them on a level surface for around 5 mins before you start your session. You should notice over time the exercises become easier and help to improve your co-ordination, flexibility and balance. High knee walking and torso rotations are awesome to try.
