The Importance Of Nutrition And Joint Health

Hey crew.

I came across this really helpful bit of information the other day and I thought it would be good to share it with you all. What we eat really does help our body repair itself and remain strong.

Joint health requires a perfect recipe of natural anti-histamines, potent antioxidants, and inflammation-fighting foods. There are two main sources of maintaining joint health Omega-3 and Sulforaphane. Omega 3 is rich in inflammatory properties and relieving stiffness. Salmon, Mackerel, sardines, and trout and Chia Seeds contain a potent form of omega-3.

Incorporate fish in your weekly diet and poach or bake them to protect the nutritional oils. Sulforaphane has shown to have slowed down the destruction of cartilage in joints associated with painful and often debilitating osteoarthritis. Sulforaphane blocks the enzymes that cause joint destruction by stopping inflammation. Sulforaphane is found in broccoli, cauliflower, kale, brussels sprouts and cabbages.

The Five best food to ensure healthy joints are:

Kale

Is rich in nutrients, antioxidants beta-carotene, and vitamin C and has been linked to joint health.

Turmeric

Is rich in a chemical called curcumin. One study found that a curcumin extract worked as well as ibuprofen to ease knee aches and pains.

Salmon

Has calcium, Omega 3 and Vitamin D that helps keep your bones strong and curb inflammation.

Red Peppers

Are loaded with Vitamin C that helps the body make collagen that is part of your cartilage, tendons, and ligaments.

Ginger

Reduces joint pain and inflammation, the chemicals found in ginger are similar to some anti-inflammatory medicines. However, ginger may interfere with blood thinning medications and it has been advised not be consumed if a person has gallstones.

Health joints require a balanced and nutritionally rich food, a healthy weight and active lifestyle. This will ensure that aging, injury or weight gain does not wear or tear your cartilage, resulting in arthritis.

Speaking from experience, I have tried using the Tumeric and Ginger for the purposes mentioned above.  I have suffered 2 knee reconstructions and it really eases the aches and pains.  I encourage you to try these methods before putting all of those pills and potions in your body. Eating the right type/s of foods can eliminate or reduce symptoms and diseases.
