I’m Sorry

sorry
/ˈsɒri/
adjective
  1. 1.
feeling sad or distressed through sympathy with someone else’s misfortune.
“I was sorry to hear about what happened to your family”2.
  2. feeling regret or penitence.
“he said he was sorry he had upset me”

Well actually I am not and neither should you!

Today we are going to talk about apologising and not the kind where you make some big mistake that was deeply regrettable, for that you should apologise, I am talking about the endless I am sorry’s that you say on a day to day basis without even thinking about it. You know the ones; someone walks across your path and you apologise, you don’t get to the gym and you apologise to your trainer, someone you speak to has a bad day and YOU apologise to them when you have absolutely nothing to do with their day!

If this is you, it is time to stop!

It is time for you to get your shit together and only apologise for things that you are truly responsible for.
By apologising on a regular basis for no reason you subconsciously assume responsibility for the world’s problems and this makes it very challenging to be optimistic and promote positive thinking. This can lead to unnecessary guilt and shame
By apologising on a regular basis you are weakening the impact the word will have for when you really need to use it. Remember you are not a medieval servant that had to apologise for being in a room.
By apologising on a regular basis you are no longer enabling the person you are talking to the opportunity for them to take responsibility for their own actions. Allow your friends and family the time to realise they are not victims of the world they are masters of their own destinies

It’s time for you to strengthen your personal power and stop saying sorry for every little thing!

Examples of reasons you should say sorry:
  • If you physically harm someone
  • If you emotionally harm someone
Let me know if I missed anything?
If the words “I am sorry for saying sorry” are popping in your head yes its time for you to not say sorry so often!
The mini challenge for you this week is to be mindful of the word sorry and start using it less, only use it when you really mean it and only when it is you at fault.

Stay Awesome Legends!
